I finally found a new job. I'll be doing bookkeeping, answering phones, data entry, and other random office stuff for a lady in San Rafael that does taxes. It's full time, so I'll be quitting the charter school and circuit city. I can't wait.

Stuff Since Saturday... [02 Nov 2005|11:35am]

Me as Tifa and Chris as Reno from Final Fantasy 7.

Halloween was a blast. Actually we celebrated it on Saturday, but it was still fun :) We ran around to a couple different parties, had a few drinks, met some new people... good times.

Things are going pretty damn good in my life right now. I'm all moved in to my new place, I'm teaching pre-algebra (which involved a significant raise), I'm getting a lot done at Circuit City but i've got a lot to do before the holidays. Oh, and I'm single and sort of enjoying it for once in my life, which means I don't have a dead end relationship tying me down and I can look for someone that's worth it.

My birthday is also coming up on November 9th. I'll be working from 9am-9pm pretty much, but after that I might be able to do something if anyone's interested.

Off to work. Later!

My goal was to move out before my 19th birthday (november 9th) and I got a place! Check it out: Studio. I'll be signing the contract and hopefully moving in (if I have enough time) on Sunday evening.

It looked too good to be true; cute, my kitty's allowed without a pet deposit, cheap rent, utilities and cable payed, right downtown in the middle of everything, with a hella nice landlord. Sweet!

Oh man. Christian is one smooth guy. I was supposed to go to Madrona Manor with Christian, Ben, and Dori tonight, but I had to work. So they came over afterward and brought me a red rose and chocolate in a to-go box. Isn't that precious? They need to come over more often. More people in general do. My house isn't really that far away. It's only a 25-30 minute drive from Santa Rosa. I do it every day. More than once. Well, it was fun to see them again. Always the best conversations with those guys.

By the way, I'm in love with this song.

Well, rednight345, it looks like you finally found my journal. I had a feeling you would someday. Maybe you should mind your own business and stay out of my life.

Well kids, after almost 3 years of lj, it looks like my journal is finally going friends only. If you want to be on my friends list and aren't yet, leave a comment.

I forgot I ever looked like that. I really want to get my hair done again.. That'll have to wait until after the holidays though.

Anyway... I haven't been having a very good day today. It would be nice if there were someone to talk to right now, but everyone's probably out partying or asleep. Plus, Shaun's gone to Wyoming for the weekend to buy fireworks with his dad :( Men... I guess it's bed time for me. I've been on my feet since 6:30 in the morning so I'm sore all over and exausted.

Good night everyone.

All day I've been thinking about how I need to register for classes before 7pm to get priority. So after work, I drive straight home, grab some dinner, and start watching Malcolm in the Middle. Look up at my clock, and of course it's 2 minutes to 7 oclock. So I run out to my car as fast as I possibly can to get the schedule I planned, run back, get on the computer, and made it at the very last minute. Crazy. So here's my schedule for the spring, if anyone's interested:

Sect Course Days Hours Instructor Room Units Status
5000 MATH27 MW 9:00am-10:00am OHLSEN D 1766 5.0 Add
TTh 9:00am-10:30am
4823 FREN2 MW 1:00pm-3:00pm STRAUS T 1529 4.0 Add

That's right, only 9 units this semester. No more biting off more than I can chew.

In other news, I almost broke $1000 on my sales today, and I only worked for 4 hours. yay me.

[24 Nov 2004|08:52am]
So much chaos lately. Lots of drama with jobs and everything. Remember how I told you I was hired at Circuit City? Well I went in again a few days after that, and after putting in my two weeks notice at JCPenney, and had sort of a "second interview" with the store manager Mark. So we talked for a long time about this and that, and come the end of the interview he says, "well, we'll definately need you to work on thanksgiving weekend". I look at the calendar, and see that that's before my two weeks are up at JCPenney, so I tell him that and he says, "well we can't hire you if you can't work that weekend". O.o So I said I'd think about it and left. Later I called him back and told him I can't leave before my two weeks are up because that's just not right, and after he tried to convince me to work BOTH jobs that weekend (is he fucking insane?) and I refused he's like, "well we can't hire you then". So I said fine and went off to work.

I was planning on quitting JCPenney anyway, but then I talked to Lynn and she offered to make me a cashier, so I decided to stay. THEN when I got home the next day, there were a couple messages on my machine. "Heyyy Tiffany.. this is Mark. Uhh call me back as soon as you get this.. I just talked to you a few minutes ago SO uhh if you could just give me a call, i'll talk to you later" Next message: "Hey Tiffany it's Mark again, it's.... Wednesday at 9 oclock. Give me a call." Heh. So I waited a few hours (make 'em sweat) and called back, and he says, "well I realized after talking to you yesterday that you were just trying to do the right thing so.. I called HR and asked if I could hire you anyway and they said it was alright!" Yeah right. "I don't know Mark. Penney's said they'd make me a cashier. But... If you're sure there isn't going to be anymore of this going back and forth and this is for sure.." "yeah, it's for sure". So I was "re-hired" at Circuit City. Isn't that fucked up?

So I've done a couple of days of training there. The first day really sucked. The managers that I knew stuck me with one that I didn't (Boun) and he was a jerk. He kept shoving me off on people who kept leaving, so most of the time I was just standing around trying to figure out what to do. I felt pretty retarded. The second day of training was a LOT better. There was a meeting in the morning where the top associates got to throw pies at tghe managers who got the most votes (Mark of course, hehe, the roadshop manager, and Joey). That was friggin hilarious. The managers at JCPenney would never do something like that. After the meeting, I spent most of the time in the eLearning room doing online training and met a couple of really nice guys in there. Matt and I helped eachother on our eLearning quizzes, and then when Matt left and I had to go out to the sales floor to do some "Try-It"s, Kalvin pretty much followed me around and helped me out. It was nice not being left alone and clueless the whole day like before. And then I started talking to Boun more, and found out that he used to work with the assistant manager at JCPenney, Angela O'Day. Apparently she used to work at Macy's in the jewelry department, and when she left to work at JCPenney, a bunch of people followed her, including Boun. So we talked a bunch and started to actually get along. I think that it'll be pretty fun working there after all.

I have much more to write about, but I have to go get ready for tutoring those little hoodlums at the charter school. Later.

P.S. Hey J, if you don't have my number, it's 887-1993. Call me!

Note to self: San Francisco isn't a good place for a "relaxing vacation". Next time go camping or something.

The hotel was nice but our attitudes were not, so it wasn't as pleasant as I'd hoped. There's something about crouds and noise that really set me off. And Shaun even more so.

It's nice to be back in the middle of nowhere.

I got the job at Circuit City. Well, I will if my background check clears. But that's not a problem. It was a strange interview. Lots more complicated questions than I was expecting, but I think I handled it well. He actually made me teach him how to divide a polynomial just to show him that I can explain something complicated to someone who has no idea how to do it. Pretty sure I passed that test, since I just tought that particular thing to a student yesterday and she understood it.

But now I must pack, and I'm off to San Francisco! FINALLY A VACATION!

[11 Nov 2004|04:59pm]
So much to do lately. I've been working non-stop all week so I can have this weekend off and go to SF. I thought I was finished today, but Casey insisted I apply at Circuit city, and now I have an interview to go to tomorrow morning. For some reason that feels like work. Maybe because I just wanted tomorrow completely to myself. It is good that I got an interview though. I'm really disliking working at Penney's now. Standing in the fitting room all day gets so boring. I asked Lynn (my supervisor) if I could be trained as a cashier, and she told me to wait until after Christmas because they need people in the fitting room. Then yesterday, Francia told me they decided to move her out to the selling floor. Yeah, they must really need people in the fitting room.

So, I'm getting a new job. They'll probably hire me at Circuit City since I know Casey and stuff, and they'll willing to pay me $8.25/hr, which is a little better than what I make at Penney's. The only problem with that is that it might be seasonal. I guess that's ok though.

The tutoring thing is going well. I've been doing more attendance recording and office aid stuff than actually tutoring though. But it's good money. And much funner than sitting in the fitting room staring at the wall.

I've really been looking forward to this weekend. I didn't really get much of a birthday on tuesday, but Shaun is taking me to San Francisco for the weekend to make up for it. I had two exams on my birthday, and then work. The only one who came to visit me at work was Shaun (but I didn't even think he'd come, so I was happy). When he picked me up after work, he gave me a dozen red roses, a cute new coat, and some pretty jewelry, and took me out to dinner. It was so sweet. But we both had to be up early, so I only got to enjoy about two hours of my birthday.

We're leaving tomorrow for SF, and apparently staying at Jerry and Tyleia's for the night, and then a nice hotel suite on Saturday night. I'm not sure what we're doing yet, but he mentioned that we might go to a comedy club. I just can't wait to get a break from school and work. It'll be soo nice.

Well i'm gonna go and relax for the first time this week. Maybe jump in the hot tub. Who cares if it's raining! Later.

Okay, someone up there must be on my side. Not only did I just get a raise at Penney's and a doyle bonus check of $100, but I just got another job.

I went in to the charter school earlier to give Paula a book that I'd borrowed, and she just happened to be in an Algebra class. So I sat there and helped a couple of friends with their homework, teaching them all the simple crap that, as Paula stated, I could do in my sleep. Afterward, I went to say hi to Carol (the principal) and after hearing that I did a pretty good job tutoring, offered to hire me at $12.50 an hour. The class just happens to be on Wednesday and Friday afternoons, which is when I don't have work or class. Four hours a week (more if I want to spend some time doing clerical work, which sounds pretty easy), $12.50 an hour, that's at least an extra $200 a month. That is so awesome. Maybe I'll be able to afford to move out soon!

I forgot to tell you all about my french midterm!

You all know how I'm terrified of doing speaches and stuff right? Well I managed to force myself to do one in my French class a couple weeks ago! It was the scariest thing I've done in years.

Aren't you proud of me? :) I think my social anxiety is slowly going away.

You know... I think I probably did just buy my own astronomy book back. I seem to remember it being bent at the upper righthand corner, much like this one... NO, damnit! Crazy thoughts.. Just stop thinking about it Tiffany. It doesn't matter that there just happened to be one used astronomy book at the bookstore after mine was stolen. Hah. I'm gonna cry.

[15 Oct 2004|11:01am]
So. On Wednesday, I went to grab my backback so I could do my math homework and study for my algebra exam that was on thursday... and I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I realized that I had left it in my car after astronomy on monday when I went to find Francia in the mall. It turns out they did get some things that were worth something. My graphing calculator. Mine and Max's astronomy book. My new french verbs book. My new novel. And, though pretty worthless, my french folder. Along with a few other little things that were fairly cheap.

I panicked, of course, over losing my graphing calculator the day before the exam, along with all that other stuff, so my dad, being the coolest guy in the world, insisted on taking me out and buying me a new graphing calculator, astronomy book, and even a new novel. On the way to Circuit City, Jen called me and told me that she'd get Casey to buy the calculator at his work so he could get his employee discount, and my mom would pay them for it. Luckily now, I owe my parents $99 for that instead of the original price of $140 (even though they insist I don't pay them back, which is sweet, buy I will anyway). We went to the SRJC bookstore and found a used (but in great condition) astronomy book for $70 (new: $90), so don't worry Max, it's all taken care of. ...You know, it'd be kind of funny if I just bought my own book back. I just thought of that. I'm going to pretend I didn't just think that...

And THEN on top of all of that niceness, Shaun went to the pick-n-pull and surprised me with a new window for my jeep, =D What a sweetheart.

As my dad so heroically stated, "these are the kinds of times when you find out who your real friends and loved ones are".

[ mood | annoyed ]

My car was broken into last night. I made the mistake of leaving it in the mall parking lot after 5pm, and came back to find the little window on the drivers side smashed in. I looked inside, and freaked out when I saw that the CD player face was gone.. but then calmed down when I realized they had just thrown it down on the center console. Then I thought, "damn. My CDs were in here. They must have stolen those at least," but alas, my CD case was still buried under my sweater in the back seat. The only thing that seemed to be missing were my old, bent up glasses that I think were in the glove compartment. I'm really hoping they didn't steal my old glasses, not because I need them, but because if they did... I pity the human race. It looked as if they were going for the CD player and ran when someone saw them.

Now the question is... where was mall security then? Sure, they're there to harrass me every time I'm just parked there sitting in my car. Do I really look that suspicious? What, it's not ok to read in your car, but it is ok to smash in peoples' windows? Great, I'll go buy a baseball bat and join in on the fun! Morons.
